Internet Marketing Sucks! Let me count the ways...
Seriously, I feel that way. You may too. For me, it's not just a personal preference thing. Being a life-long professional marketer, I've used every venue possible to market products and get the word out. Print, TV, radio, direct mail, the Internet. Now even cell phones and mobile devices.
I don't really have a favorite.They've all got their strengths and weaknesses. One form of media may be better than other for certain things.
But I've now come to the conclusion...
Despite the siren song and all the song and dance about how wonderful the Internet Marketing is...
It just sucks!
For most (particularly beginners), it's actually the worst way to market there is.
Why? One word...
Competition.
Look at it this way...
Imagine there was only one newspaper in the world. Or one television station. Now, it's a venue nearly everyone has access to. But it's the only one. What is going to happen then?
You guessed. Exactly what's happened online.
Everybody and their brother is trying to slice up the pie into finer and finer portions.
There's nearly 2 billion people online.
And about 2 million of them are trying to sell you something!
That's the Internet. That's why it sucks. And that's why you haven't made any money yet.
So, are you getting the message here?
It's not about putting up yet more billboards. It's about getting off that damn highway and doing something different. You can't compete in an ultra-crowded marketplace. And that's what the Internet has become.
So, you might consider doing what I did.
And that's getting off the Internet. Or, at the very least, not using the Internet as your primary route to success.
